DESCRIPTION:
WW - Heuer Twin-Time retailed by Abercrombie & Fitch, automatic, 36mm x 44mm to lug tips, 20mm lug width, original stainless steel screw back case, no strap, original silvered dial with inner rotating hour disk, black painted indices with lume plots, 17J, s#40606, triple signed. To call this watch rare is a disservice to the word, with less than a handful of examples known to exist one couldn't ask for a better piece as a star in their Heuer or Abercrombie collection. Includes a letter of provenance from the current owner Linking the watch to US Navy Commander John Hallett, also included is an Abercrombie & Fitch tan cap with Commander insignia with Hallet scribbled on the inner tag. Commander Hallett was a longstanding supporter of the Kittery Historical & Naval Museum.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall; dial with even surface crazing and ample spotting; excellent black painted hands; lightly polished case shows light wear, oxide to caseback where a one piece strap was worn for decades; crowns shows very little wear; plastic crystal with edge crack along the perimeter, would benefit from a new crystal.
